Wow! I can hardly believe that the last few weeks have gone past so fast! The cave is now so full I can hardly move in there. I’ve included just a few here.
At last we found out what I had hidden in the sacks. Everyone was excited and jumped at the chance to use the fantastic materials I had been given by GRUMPY’s (if you get a chance, check them out via the Links section). We all had lots of fun keeping it a big secret for so long. We suspended our disbelief, just like the second moto of the Guild of Fairy-tale Hunters.
One of the best things was reading the homework. The fairy-tale stories from your families are amazing and will take pride of place when I get chance to climb the bookshelves. I was honoured to present the Awards of Epilates and entrance into Guild membership for those that presented me with their stories. You can find these badges tucked away all over the website and they may lead to clues and stories. Again I’ve included just a few here.
I can tell that may “Bag of Tricks” will be full to over-flowing with the inventive fairy-tales catching tools, which you have designed and made in 3D. I’m sure that they will be very useful.
Some of the most interesting pictures we did together were those when your eyes were closed. Do you remember them? They helped use to be especially thoughtful when you started to create your own story books. Not only did all the students begin by designing the front cover but everyone had fun trying to draw a picture that illustrated the last word of their fairy-tale.
Finally the stars of the show were your own imaginative Fairy-tale Hunters. They looked great as large 3D sculptures and they look just as good in the galleries. I can’t wait to read their adventures in your stories as I pull them off the book shelf while I am travelling.
I must remember to do some tidying in the Kid’s Cave to make room for all your pictures you will do while I am away and of course for all the art to come from The Youth Project in Kathmandu and the picture I will take along the way.
It will be great to read all the articles from the schools while I am away from England and I’ll start looking out for them as soon as I land in Kolkata.
We will have extra fun as well! If you can remember I will meet you live over Skype in your class rooms. I’ll call you as often as I can when I can get an internet connection and don’t forget I will be nearly six hours ahead of you! One of the most exciting events to come will be when we link all the school class rooms together “live” over the internet. I’ll also update you with clues and tip bits on Twitter. See if you can discover what the new and unfamiliar names and words mean. They will all help you to help me in the hunt for fairy-tales.
As you can see we have come a long way in such a short time, learnt a great amount and now know how to use new tools.
A BIG BIG thank-you for all your amazing stories, sculptures and pictures so far. They are great to see when I show visitors around the galleries. I must remember to pack your fairy-tale hunting tools in my bag of tricks when I travel. When I’m away I’ll open my bag to see what has made it to India safely.
